The Spine is in the center of interests of diverse areas of research and clinicians.

Since 2011, this Summer School has been organized alternatively in Porto and Barcelona. In 2017, the 6th edition of the Advanced Summer School, under the general theme of Interrogations at the Biointerface, and the specific topic “Research/Clinical Interface at the Spine” will take place in Porto, organized by i3S, University of Porto.
The first day, the 19th, will be exclusively dedicated to lab sessions for students, while the last three days (20th-22nd) will be devoted to lectures. The course is credited with 2 ECTS (European Credit Transfer System) by the University of Porto. 

On June 23rd, the 3rd edition of the Symposium on Immunomodulation in Cancer and Regeneration will be held in the same venue. The Summer School's full course participants are invited to participate in this Symposium free of charge!

The Summer School is taking place in a very informal environment, and participants from both clinic and research fields are encouraged to bring questions that may contribute to the advance of knowledge through interactive approaches. The venue is located within the gardens of Palácio de Cristal, a magic environment from the Romantic period of the late 19th century.
