CaO-P 2O 5 based glasses are widely used as biomaterials due to their various chemical compositions, excellent bioactivity, adjustable biodegradation and suitable mechanical properties. The structures of Na 2O-TiO 2-CaO-P 2O 5 system glasses were investigated by FTIR and FT-Raman spectroscopies. The calcium phosphate glasses have chain-like structures based on Ti-O-P linkages containing [P 2O 7] 4- groups and [PO 4] 3- groups. Some amount of TiO 2 enters into the glass network, in which [TiO 4] tetrahedra connect with [PO 4] tetrahedra through the P-O-Ti bonds, the remaining TiO 2 exists into interspaces of [PO 4] tetrahedra. CaO connects the two linkages in the form of Ca-O-P bonds.
