BEYOND THE LAB COAT: Ana Paula Filipe

Ana Paula Filipe is one of the most important people at INEB. During the past years and at present time, she makes everything work smoothly and perfectly at INEB with a huge smile on her face.

Ana Paula was born in Porto in 1964, in the 25th of October. Always passionate for History, she graduated in History in 1988 but the destiny took her to INEB in 1994 to work as a secretary for the organization of the 12th European Conference on Biomaterials, one of the most important conferences in the field, and the first held in Portugal.
Two years later she worked as a secretary of two master courses at FEUP, in close relationship with INEB, and in 1998 Ana Paula moved definitely to INEB where she works as administrative since then.
Ana Paula is responsible, not only for the administration and human resources of INEB, but she is also involved in the organization of several events and conferences hosted by INEB. In the middle of such responsibility, she still has time to remember everyone birthdays and give a flower or a chocolate to celebrate the day!

 

MAIN CHALLENGE(S):
Being a mother.

 

INEB IN ONE WORD:
Evolution.
Since I first come to INEB in 1994 everything is so different. We have grown and evolved so much!

 

BEYOND THE LAB COAT...
I like to be with friends, go out or just stay at home “couching”…
I discovered recently that I like to practice Pilates and BodyBalance!
I like very much to travel and I would like to spend my retirement travelling around the world.

IF I WASN'T A SCIENTIST, I WOULD BE...
ambassador! I like human relations and I think I am quite good in that. In my opinion, whenever possible, we should avoid conflicts and always try the diplomatic way.
